Murano seat problems

   Whilst driving to work on Monday I had to brake quite sharply at a junction , and the rear left corner of my drivers seat collapsed with a loud crack. The car was still driveable , so later on I took it to my local main dealer. They looked at it and informed me that the part of the seat frame had snapped...and quoted me £795 plus labour to replace it!!
After I'd regained consciousness , I had a quick look online and discovered that this is a very common problem, so much so that there is an effort in America to get Nissan to order a recall. I contacted Nissan customer services , but they were very dismissive of the problem and offered no help in rectifying it. 
Have any other Murano owners suffered the same problem?  Let me know,and its a common thing over here, perhaps we an lobby Nissan to sort it out ?
