squeeky brakes!

touch wood as im typing this but this is a small essay, i had the wheel wobble on steel wheels and as i had to have some new tyres i decided to buy a second hand pair of alloys with tyres ( as well as eliminating possible bent rim ), the tyres good nick, had them balanced and tracked last thursday and still had the wobble, took my car back to the garage and had them redo the balancing and tracking and found out the fronts hadent been done correctly and the tracking was well out no suprise i had a wobble, according to the garage the wrongs weights had been used, now all done and seems fine a drives upto 70+ mph with only a small amount of vibration which im assuming is normal as driving at high speed, i just dont hope it doesnt come back now ive wrote this.

hope this helps any1 who is having a simler problem, make sure the garage use correct weights for the wheel and place correct weight on the wheel, thats seemed to be the problem i had also tracking!

swap the tires around (diagonally) and see if it still happens you may oh lost a wheel wieght unless thay ballanced all 4 tires

A warped disc will vibrate under braking

its getting to be a pain now but ive had my car back to the garage that done the tracking and balancing and they had another check and found that one of my tyres was out of shape, new tyre on and the balancing and tracking redone and hey thought id cracked it, on the way home 70mph and the vibration is back, fine a 60 and lower its just 70+, oh yea my MOT was today and went stright through so i carnt think its going to be something serious, its just p***ing me off now, ive tryed nearly everything is there anything small i might be overlooking?

ive checked the brakes, suspention and play on the wheel so shouldnt be a bearing, balancing, tracking, new tyre,

I was going to mention tracking but if that's been done then id say a part of your suspension has failed maybe? When you jack the car up is there any free play if you try and wobble the wheel?

ive done the job now and appears to be better, the vibration has been reduced and ive heard no squeaking so far, fingers crossed. ive still got a small amount of vibration at 70mph but im putting that down to the fact i do need the tracking and balancing doing and im bound to get a small vibration at speed. however i did snap a bolt when i put the caliper back on, the small one thankfully the one that goes into the small pin/bolt thing luckily its removable so i bought a new one and there are a nightmare to get hold of, incase it happens to any1 else i got a set from http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk for £22 inc delivery...
