Hi all, I'm from Ireland and have a 2001 nissan primera. Stupidly I crashed but rather than get rid of the old girl I was wondering if I could put a bigger engine in it. If anyone can help me out it would much appreciated. What I want to knw is what engine fits in this car or are there any modifications I can do to this engine to increase performance signifcantly. Please help!

Dave

If you have a 1600 then you can fit the 1800 or the 2000, but you will need the gearbox, ECU etc, etc.
IF YOU WANT COMFORT BY A CAR IF YOU WANT SPEED BUY A HAYABUSA 194MPH,QUARTER MILE 9.86 sec @ 145.80 MPH

Yeah its 1600, I've always liked how it handled so I'd liked to keep it but would like it to be quicker. Thanks for the info. I'm just wondering is it worthwhile to fit turbo or is the engine compatible?

I'm gonna start small and do some engine mods like high lift cams and a new exhaust system. My mate works on cars so he's gonna give me a hand to fit them, any other ideas on what I can do with this engine muchly appreciated. Thanks again guys!

I'll have a good SR20DE coming up for sale soon. It should drop straight into your 144 with minimal work...
