Hi
We have a Nissan Note 1.6 Auto on Motability. 2 months before the end of it's lease with us we took it in for an MOT. The dealership told us that the mounting bracket on the front left subframe had been torn out of the chassis leg. Due to, they say, a massive impact at some point to that side whilst we were driving it. We both know full well we have made no such impact so alarm bells began to ring. I've just taken it to a local dealer who I've known for years. He popped it up on the ramps and showed me the problem. Yes, it's loose but there is absolutely no evidence of an impact anywhere. My question is, has anyone heard of a design fault of this nature or had anything similar told to them? Many thanks Andy |

Hi We have a 4 year old Note with a similar problem except that our dealers are at a loss as to the fault. Nearside front developed a 'squeak' which gradually got worse until unbearable. Into dealers - diagnosed sub frame bracket - replaced at fantastic cost but all well - until it re-appeared a couple of weeks later. Back in - we will fix it said they - and they did (no charge), until a couple of weeks later. They then told me that they had only lubricate the bushes (?) the last time and are now talking about more investigative work, maybe 3 or 4 days. Thgey also say that there is no visible damage and that these cars do not have an iherent fault of this type. I think I will lubricate it myself and then sell it. |
