have had my nissan micra initia for a week now, bought it
second hand on a 56 plate.i think there is a fault or it could be normal for this car.hopefully someone can give me some advice.here goes.when i am driving and coming to slow down and release the accelerator and dip the clutch to go into a lower gear the rev counter revs higher to 1.5 revs or just above while the clutch is still down and then seems to go back to normal.it does this when stopping for traffic lights and then a few seconds later settles back to ideling at 1 on the rev counter.also have noticed that it will happily plod along slowly in first or second gear when the clutch is released,,,can anyone help please,is this normal.or is it just me? thanks. |

Halfords carb cleaner and an old toothbrush
Engine off! locats and remove rubber trunking to throttle butterfly hold butterfly open and spray with carb cleaner and clean all gunk off with toothbrush. Will splutter and cough but will start and run fine. Done this on umpteen cars all with idle or low speed control problems. Lynall |
