ive just bought a almera tino 1800. its burning oil for fun.. blue smoke is evident then stops when its warmed up. im gonna attempt to replace the oil valve seals as a process of elimination. can i replace these without removing the head???

Afternoon,
It's not advisable to replace them without the head off the car as it makes the job A LOT more time consuming, I would advise pulling the head to do this job.
It also lets you check the piston for slap and the bores for any scoring. Would not want to do the stem seals just to find it's still burning oil and have to pull the head anyway because it's got a knackerd ring or two.
Hope this helps.
Good luck

Glad to help,
It would be worth getting it skimmed, at least then you know you have a nice flat surface and no risk of a blown gasket later on at some point.
