Note throttle

Hi just joined the forum so Hi to everyone.
 Problem i have with my 08 1.6 Note is that the revs seem to drop off between 1000 and 2000 rpm.
 So on a level surface the car hunts at low speed ie; when in 1st or 2nd gear in traffic jams.
 If stationary it is not possible to hold the revs in this range, I have even tried pressing on the accelerator with my hand to keep it steady. Nissan dealer says this is normal for the Note and Micra. 
Has anyone had the same experience  ?
