My Note which is a 1.4 Acenta 57 plate with 185/65-15" tyres on seems very difficult to keep on a straight line. My drive to work is mostly on an exposed bit of dual carriageway, on windy days it is a real test of nerves.
Any ideas how I might sort or at least improve this? |

Have you checked the tyre pressures? The cause could be a tyre out of shape, incorrect tyre pressures or the tracking could need adjusting. I would start with the tyre pressures first as that is the cheapest option. Try reducing them by a couple of psi each. Mick |

mine does exactly the same, mine has 185/55-16 tyres and i have reduced the pressure in the fronts a bit and slightly raised the rears and it seems much better... although it is still terrible in cross winds, but thats down to the shape and lightnes of the body.

4 new tyres are on it, 2 just fitted today, I do like to have a good bit of air in the tyres, 34 front 32 rear, what sort of psi would you suggest.

Note is a tall car, with a soft suspension, big (side) surface and a very wrong tyre size... The best size (in my opinion) would be 195/55/15. If you change the suspension (lowering it also) it's gonna be more steady with much more handle but it's not going so soft or practical any more OR Drive itat 80-85mph or less! |
