You will need to check if you have power at the motor. The switch operates as a relay so it may have power to it but there may be nothing coming out of it. Did the roof go back without any noises? Mick

it went back normal. then when I went to put it forward to close it it moved a bit then I clicked back and then it closed a bit more then refused to move at all, it was temperamental yesterday but closed eventually, if I take the motor out what do I look for, paul says when he had it he never really opened it fully just in the up position where it tilts. it wont open or close now, I checked the fuse 7.5 and its fine, all windows etc work,

The sunroof fuse will not be 7.5 amp. It should be at least a 20 amp as the motors draw a lot of current. You need to unplug the motor and check for a live at the plug with the switch in the 'operated' position.
