Engine number

   Hi. I have a '01 3 litre Patrol and am unable to locate the engine number. The manual points to a number stamped on the cylinder head as being the engine number, but this does not correspond to the V5. Hope some one can help me.

	Hi mate The engine numbers are not on the cylinder head there on the cylinder block on the side about halfway down. John.

	Thank you John, I thought the cylinder head was a strange place to put it. However, could you tell me on which side of the cylinder block its stamped, ie turbo side or opposite side. Its really busy in there. Regards. Barry
