Has anybody had a problem with excessively noisy front brakes.  Spoke to local Nissan dealership who advised that this was perfectly normal for Micras & Notes on startup in the morning at this time of the year (light overnight corrosion - salt !!), would be far more noticeable in reverse but would disappear after 5 to 10 mins use.

Noise is definitely worse in reverse but does not disappear within first 5 to 10 minutes of use. Discs themselves do look a little worn & but pads have around 8mm of material on lef on them.

Its because of the makeup of the pads there a hard compound  thay squeel and grind till you get some heat into them

its not just nissan but most car companies over the last 5 years or so have gone to theses hard organic brake pads and clutches also these tend to wear the disc's quicker

while the car is in warrenty your stuck with them

Hi Flash, Thanks for the info. Do you have any recommendations for aftermarket pads/discs ?.

You can use Brembo discs with Ferrodo pads,

but you have to push the brakes in order to heat them and make

them brake prop. cause it's concidered as a "sporty combination"..

Usually "soft" pads are better in many ways, so i would recomend them to someone who is not driving agressively..!

Every braking company, do have suggestions for everyone!

Explain what you want/need and they 'll help you!!
