Spent this morning running in the wires for the VVL switches. I took the feed of the O2 sensor feed and ran the two return wires along the wiring loom back to the ECU.

Next job is to wire in a couple of LEDs on to the dash to tell me when the switches activate. For that I need to take the dash out, but as she's booked in for an MOT tomorrow and as it's bloody cold and wet out there, I've decided to leave that job until next weekend...

I had an idle moment this afternoon so decided to strip down the VVL switches and double check they were working. If you've ever wondered what one half of the VE magic loos like, this is it...

The housing is on the left. Then the intake cam switch followed by the exhaust. Finally the little oil filter at the bottom that can becomes blocked and be the cause of loss of high the cams...

Another pic of the housing.

The oil feed is the large banjo shaped opening in the middle. The low cam return is just to the right. The high cam returns are below and to the left...
