Dear All,

Please can someone give me some advice as this is the only site I can find where people know what they are talking about in regards to the Datsun/Nissan!

My grandad had a 1981 Bluebird which I have now acquired, it is in VERY good condition with MOT and TAX and only 1 owner being my grandad.. 43,000 miles on clock and garaged all its life.

I am only using it as my own car has recently died of death and needed a vehicle but I am concerned I am using a classic car and would appreciate any input as to its value before run  it into the ground!!

I cant find ANY for sale  ANYWHERE on the net and really would apprreciate advice.

Many thanks!

Yo, congratulations on the new car, very very nice and
sounds like a minter.

If you try to look after it, it will be so easy to keep
it in the condition it is in now. Here is what I would do
now:

Check underneath for any rust, sort everything out so you
have a solid car again. It might be solid, you never know
but it will be good to check.

Service it ever 4/5/6,000 miles with good oil. What
engine does it have?

Post some pictures of it, I'm sure someone on here knows
more about them than I do, but do check for rust and do
service it and there will be no way you'll run it into
the ground

Enjoy the forums,
John.

Hi john,

thanks for your reply.... its pretty much rust free as been garaged all its life.  I will promise to get it serviced but am not sure I want to hang on to it PURELY as I have a young family and we need a holiday car to do mileage etc and this probably ISNT the car to do it in.... It deserves a better home and keeper if you ask me ;)

I just need to figure out what sort of value I should be asking for it as I dont want to give it away :) !! I dont suppose you could point me in a direction of how I would find this out? I have looked EVERYWHERE on net for one for sale and cant find a single thing :(
