Hi guys

Would appreciate any advice on a heater blower fault on my note

1.6 SVE. Perfect timing with Winter on the way. The blower is coming on at start up but is more frequently starting to make a labouring noise and then cutting out totally. Display still shows as working and fuses OK. The blower will then surge to life maybe 15 minutes later.

Any thoughts, resistor problem or fan motor sticking?

Ii the fan on auto are you turning it on manually or doesnt it matter ?? sounds like its the resistor card/speed control  as there different on the climate system than normal air con there a bit dearer to replace

the fans are normailly very strong and dont go wrong often

Update on the heater/ blower problem. The dealer, Arnold Clark has declared the unit defunct and requires £550 to fix and replace.

I did ask if they had contacted Nissan, which of course thet had not. The car is only 1 year out of warranty, but a non serviceable part chucking it at 4 tears is not clever. Nissan to their credit have raised

a case and I will find out tomorrow how much they will support by, any less than 90% is I think unacceptable for a 4 year old car. The trend is now deffo towards lifetime warranty, and I wll be guided by this in future purchases. Nice wee car but to hell wiith this.

PS Arnie is great for car sales, After sales is not their strong point, and I know there is a couple of websites to testify, yjey can,y all be ex employees can they? I'll post my outcome tomorrow'

thats got to hurt £550 esp this time of year, i would ask them for more details on what needs replacing tbh. The markup on parts from nissan is shocking

FLASH

Thanks for your reply.

After raising the case with Nissan Warranty I am not impressed by what they think is customer service. After 5 days of the initial inspection , Nissan would not give me a response as to why the part had failed and also how much they would contribute.

The Blower is a non serviceable part and at  4 years is not an item you would expect to fail.  My "loyalty" to Nissan was brought in to question because I had moved my servicing and MOT outside the network. Bottom line is it cost me £370 after Nissan contributed  £190

to the repair. I need to decide how to proceed as Nissan could not decide whether this was a Part Failure or something else until they get the part returned. Absolute nonsense from Nissan,  to expect that a non serviceable part is somehow your fault., hello I need my heater serviced as it may be in danger of failing.

Right now I am not buying another Nissan until I get a reponse

from the Manufactureras to why Nissan think that customers should have to pay  for a  non serviceable  part that does not last  up to 4 years
