Hi, I've got a run of the mill 05 plate Almera 1.5ltr car. recently my dipped beams have been very dim. Does any have this problem. Doesn't seem to be a short or current leak. Took it to the garage and they think changing the whole headlight unit would cure the problem. I'm not too convinced as both sides are dim. Thanks for any illumination. Trev. |

Sorry cause my English is not the best it could be...! Do you mean that you have: blair headlights? If so, they can be repaired but the won't last for too long.. Is the reflectors damaged? I don't think you can disable the headlights, so no repairing available.. Check the circuits esp. the grounds before any replacements! ------------- NISSANTUNERS.GR MEMBER (Thanx a lot guys) |

The housing unit looks OK. No crack or condensation. But the lens on both dipped beams looks slightly milky. Should they be clear? Have cheked the grounding. Slight rust on one of the ground points. Cleaned it up, but didn't make much difference. |

There are some repairing kits (to do it yourself) for the lens. It's gonna be "like the new one", but the won't last long... Sooner or later they re going to need replacement...!

My car, 55 plate, also suffers from this same problem. Sometimes I wonder if they are actually on! I intend to purchase a pair of super-bright osrams (claim to be 50% brighter) and try them. Will let you know Regards Ralph |
