Hello

Im new to this and would like to thank everyone in advance for any help i
get.

I have a 56' nissan note SE, and just recently the battery light has been
flickering on and off ( kind of like if there was a loose connection) The
light is now on constantly, which , with my very limited knowledge
thought it was the alternator!! SO i get the problem item off the car and
take it to a recon place.

They test it and inform me that nothing is wrong with the thing.
So it goes back on and the light stays off!!! HURRRRRAH i hear you shout.

Well its back on and i dont know what i should be looking for......

Hence CLUB NISSAN striding out of the mist to my rescue??????

Like i said anything would be a help and i thank you.

sounds like a regulator on the alternator giving up

what battery voltage do you have when the cars turned off and whats the charge voltage when running (at the battery) ?

Thanks flash

The guy said it could be the regulator but then dismissed that when the
refurb place said nothing was wrong with the unit.

If the regulator has gone is that inside the alternator? or outside and
seperate??

Not sure of the voltage when its turned off but when its running it was
15.4.

I'll check the volts turned off and get back to you.

Many Thanks
